The environmental impact of the fashion industry is undeniable
Pollution, excessive water consumption, carbon emissions, and overproduction contribute to significant ecological harm.
In response, governments, NGOs, brands, and activist movements have initiated a variety of efforts to mitigate these issues.
However, the need for stricter sustainability regulations, enhanced transparency, and better accountability remains critical.

The inaugural Fashion Sustainability and Law Forum
The inaugural Fashion Sustainability and Law Forum took place on September 15, 2025, at the historic Sant’Agostino campus in Città Alta, Bergamo. The event brought together leading voices from academia, legal experts, industry professionals, and sustainable fashion designers to engage in a multidisciplinary dialogue on the future of sustainable fashion and fashion law.
By integrating diverse perspectives and fostering collaboration, the event achieved its goal of creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and innovation that supports sustainable transformation in the fashion industry.

We look forward to expanding this initiative in future editions, continuing to build bridges between law, academia, and industry to drive meaningful progress in fashion sustainability.
A detailed agenda with speaker names, affiliations, and presentation titles is available to provide full transparency and showcase the diversity of expertise involved.
The forum also featured an exhibition of cutting-edge sustainable garments by designers like Marco Trevisan and Rosamund Muir, bringing real-world innovation into direct dialogue with theory and policy.
